The AAA Announces Student Grants - Scholar Abroad Program  2010 For Students Pursuing Post-Graduate Education In The USA: -

The AAA provides financial assistance by way of a repayable Rs.100,000 grant,  to those students who have secured admission or have an admission offer in a  U.S. college / university for post-graduate education. Selection criteria  includes:

(a) Educational accomplishment,
(b) Relevance of educational program to India,
(c) The financial need of the student and family, and
(d) Stature of the U.S. university relative to the desired  program. Based on the above criteria, the AAA Student Grants Committee shortlists  students who are then interviewed to decide the final Grant recipients.
 
This year, the AAA celebrated 29 years of its student grants effort and gave 15 financially-needy scholars
Rs. 1,00,000 each.

AAA Proposes to meet the above objectives by:-

(a) Fully interactive Web Site: www.americanalumni.net where the prospective students may register and thereafter log in to access  wealth of up-to-date information about the US and the universities and links to  important sites related to their further studies in USA. (Note: The web site  has been interactive since January 15 2004).
 
(b) Providing answers to the students, who ask for assistance  from the Student Affairs Committee and to ensure that the response reaches the  student within 7 working days.
 
(c) Providing answers to School Specific enquiries by connecting  a Student Affairs Committee member with the student to provide the specific  information and/or by contacting International Admissions office/International  student body on behalf of inquiring student.
 
(d) Encouraging and supporting various US based universities and  colleges to India to hold seminars and fairs for prospective Students offering  them an opportunity to have a face-to-face interaction with university  representatives.
 
(e) Assisting US universities by interviewing prospective  students as part of the grant and scholarship programs and providing  feedback/evaluation to the universities.
 
(f) Soliciting donations from Indian corporate and business  houses and provide financial support to the needy students in the form of  grants and scholarships.
